Mitic Bike, an epic ascent and a unique arrival
Publishing date 12/04/2017
Mitic Bike Valencia-Javalambe-Valencia will be held on April 21, 22 and 23, leaving from the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias
It was the early nineties when a group of enthusiasts from the Turyciclo MTB club began to organise a three-stage trek during the summer solstice. Over the years the trek has been improved, creating links with local town halls and regional governments in order to provide it with improved logistical services and increased security. In 2017, on the 25th anniversary of the trek, the time has come to open the Mitic Bike trail to clubs and individuals in order to allow them to enjoy this unique experience.
The event, which will be held on April 21, 22 and 23, starts at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia and goes all the way to the Javalambre peak, in Teruel, at an altitude of 2020 metres above sea level, after which it sets course to return to the city of the Turia, Valencia. All in all, the race has a total length of 290 kilometres, with a cumulated 6,000 metres of incline. Mitic Bike is organised by Geo-Planet, and it strives to become an MTB challenge for Spanish and international cyclists who see the Spanish Mediterranean as a suitable location to prepare themselves for cycling season owing to its climate and terrain.
The trail boasts all the necessary services, technical features and security measures to ensure that it is both an unforgettable experience and a challenge of epic proportions for cyclists. Moreover, the audience will also be able to enjoy the beauty of the mountain landscapes and the beaches that are crossed over the course of the trail.
