Publishing date 16/06/2014
The calm waters of Castellón will witness the eighteenth edition of the Castellón Costa Azahar Regatta from June 19 to 22, a high-level regatta that attracts the foremost figures in the national sailing scene. Come and watch a clash of titans live!
The XVIII Costa Azahar REgatta is a Cruiser regatta included in the calendar of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation as a High-Level competition. It belongs to the Spanish Cup circuit, and, as such, it is a scoring competition for the ORC Spanish Cruiser Cup in the Levante area, and it is one of the three scoring competitions in the Juan Moreno Memorial, in the Valencia Region, along with the Doctor Senís Regatta, of the Valencia RCN and the Trofeo Tabarca Ciudad de Alicante.
The Juan Moreno Memorial is a trophy that concentrates the three most prestigious high-level regattas in the Valencia Region, in the National Cruiser Calendar, which are scoring competitions for the Spanish Cup in the Mediterranean Area: IV Doctor Senís Trophy, which will be held at the Valencia RCN on June 14 and 15; the XVIII Costa Azahar Regatta of the Castellón RCN, from June 19 to 22; and the XIX Trofeo Tabarca CIudad de Alicante, from July 10 to 13. It is organised by the Government of the Valencia Region through the Conselleria of Education, Culture and Sports, and the Valencia Region sailing federation, with the collaboration of the Castellón RCN, the Valencia RCN and the Alicante RCN.
The trophy is a tribute to the great sportsman Juan Moreno, who worked with and was one of the foremost exponents of the Valencia Region Sailing Federation. The thre regattas are held with an ORC compensation system.
