On San Jaime's Day a traditional verbena (open-air celebration on the eve of a saint's day) is held. The townsfolk of the San Jaime quarter organise different ludic events. In the old days a falla (ornate cardboard figure) was placed and then burnt on this day, a tradition that has been recovered since the year 2005 and once again one can enjoy the cremà de la Falla de Sant Jaume(Burning of the Falla of Saint James), made by a local artist. This feast day together with that of Santa Ana are great traditions in Onil.
