The Cherry Festival was started in the year 2000 by the cultural association Unió Cultural d’Amics i Amigues de la Vall de Gallinera, and later the valley’s local government took over the organisation of the event. This festival aims to dignify one of the most important products of La Vall de Gallinera: the cherry. It is held on the second weekend of June, taking advantage of the end of the harvest. It is a fun event where both young and old enjoy a weekend full of activities suitable for everyone.

This festival has events that have already become traditions, year after year, such as the poster competition or the international cherry pit spitting championship.

In addition, throughout the previous month, there is a cherry-based gastronomic route with the participation of all the bars and restaurants of the valley, whereby visitors can enjoy peculiar dishes based on the cherry.
