Banyeres does not only live its main celebrations in April, but each first weekend of September the first two days of Moors and Christians are recalled, as in 1780, when Banyeres received the relic of San Jordi, moved here from Rome by local Father Juan Bautista Domenech. For this reason, the inhabitants of Banyeres relive the events, get dressed again, and recreate the festive atmosphere that characterizes their festivals. It is advisable to visit Banyeres de Mariola at that time of the year, to appreciate and share with the neighbors their ingrained traditions.
