The set of small breakwaters of the Juan Aparicio seafront promenade have formed a very unique bathing area: a set of beaches surrounded by rocky areas. This last detail also gives the site an added value, as it provides an attractive area for diving, with interesting depths of oceanic Posidonia prairies. They are very quiet bathing areas ideal for children and the elderly, and very busy because they stand in the center of the city of Torrevieja.

La Illeta dels Banyets

The swimming area located around the “La Illeta dels Banyets” archaeological site is known as the Illeta dels Banyets beach, and consists of a rocky platform and a small stone cove forming an artificial link between the site and the mainland. It is a perfect place for diving.

Highlight: La Bassa de la Reina

La Bassa de la Reina (the Queen’s pool) is located behind the Club Náutico, next to the La Illeta dels Banyets archaeological site. This rocky platform is wreathed in legend; according to local tradition it was once the swimming pool of a Muslim queen, in the times of Muslim rule. However, in reality it was a Roman fish farm, which nowadays offers the delights of clean and crystalline waters.

The site also boasts a Snorkel Route, Los Baños de la Reina, suitable for everybody who likes diving and learning about our marine flora.

Platja Punta del Riu

At the end of the Sea Front of Carrer la Mar we find the river mouth of the dry river, which forms an extensive beach that he invites to the bath and to the skin-diving. In this zone, at the end of the S.XIX, there was constructed the first shipyard, germ of an important fishing industry which vestiges live still in the Fishermen's Confraternity.

In addition, close to the beach you can find the pet park.

Among other services, this beach has a Red Cross post, a disabled toilet, two feet-washing areas, an adapted access ramp, recycling facilities and rubbish bins, reserved parking for ambulances and the disabled, three beach bars/restaurants and a cordoned bathing area.

Beach with an irregular outline of varying width, with sandy areas and pebbles.  It is possibly one of the least visited beaches; in fact, it is extremely peaceful, making it ideal for fishing from the jetty, since the beach is not suitable for bathing. The town's campsite is in this area.

The second is a little further north, leading into Burriana beach, and is made up of rocks and posts, ideal for fishing from the jetty. L'Estany Natural Park, declared a Natural Beauty Spot in 2004, is situated in La Alcudia, home to numerous native species and a stopover point for flocks of migrating birds that visit us every year.
