Embalse Del Bosquet

The reservoir of El Bosquet is a beautiful artificial lake created around about 1770 thanks to an enlightened project of hydraulic engineering promoted by Pasqual Caro, the son of one of the Barons of Moixent and Marquises of La Romana, and administrator of the then feudal estate of Moixent. Its function was that of retaining the fluvial water and spring water in order to irrigate the vegetable plots and to make the mills of the town work. The natural environment of El Bosquet, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), is populated with leafy pines and centenary holm oaks, which make the spot rather pleasant and inviting as regards bathing, fishing and going for a swim.
