Discover an exceptional archaeological site that breathes the splendour of Roman legacy. The Sanctuary and Roman Baths of Mura will take you aback with all its history set in the heart of Llíria.

Santuario y Termas Romanas de Mura, the Sanctuary and Roman Baths of Mura in Llíria, is a unique archaeological site dating all the way back to Roman Hispania. The site, which is in an exceptional state of conservation, is integrated into the present-day town. It comprises a public area, including a religious zone with an oracular sanctuary, and two thermal sites designed for both entertainment and healing, in addition to a number of rooms and areas. Taking advantage of the therapeutic properties of the waters surging from the Sant Vicent spring, the baths are divided into two thermal buildings. In the Roman period, the Temple of the Nymphs was built on this sacred site.

Over the centuries, the baths underwent a number of transformations, from its abandonment in the lower Imperial period to its occupation in the Byzantine and Visigoth periods, probably as a Christian monastery until the mid-7th century AD, when they were definitively abandoned. Comprising a total surface area of 20,000m², this site of religion and healing is one of the most important in Roman Hispania. The Roman baths, which are bigger and more significant than those of Pompeii, are known for being the first to have an indoor pool especially for women. This Roman city boasts the listing of Site of Cultural Interest. Come and delve into history in Llíria where the Sanctuary and Roman Baths of Mura will reveal the rich story of Roman Hispania.
