Discover one of the most important historic buildings in Aras de los Olmos and enjoy its exhibitions and collections. You're going to love the monuments in this municipality.

Horno Medieval, the Medieval Oven that sits on El Jueguecillo street in Aras de los Olmos, has been part of the urban landscape for 600 years. During this time, it was one of the most important places in the municipality as it was where the locals baked their bread, a fundamental part of the population’s diet. The community oven was also a lively meeting place where the locals would cook a number of dishes that we still prepare at home today.

The good news is that the Medieval Oven in Aras de los Olmos is open to visitors. Inside, you will find an exhibition all about grain where you can discover the tools and implements used to cultivate it in times past as well as the materials used in bread making.

The Medieval Oven was built in the year 1351 and was in use until 1975. A very long lifespan indeed. Your visit to the oven is included in the price of your Aras de los Olmos Ecomuseum ticket so we’d recommend getting one and taking a cultural tour of this fascinating municipality. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes as Aras de los Olmos is swept up in beautiful scenery that you’ll want to explore.
