Palace of Theudimer

Pla de Nadal Visigoth Museum

The Visigoth Museum of Pla de Nadal -MVPLA- shows us the history of this remarkable palace complex, built by Theudimer, Duke of the Cartaginense region, after the arrival of the Arabs in 711. The visit includes a journey through its architecture, its decor, epigraphy, etc. The work of stonemasons, plasterers and painters in the building is also explained.

Finally, you can see over a hundred pieces of sculpture, which is the best collection of late-ancient civil plastic art of Hispania, and one of the most complete in the entire West. This way, Riba-roja de Túria collects a historic harvest, planted hundreds of years ago by the inhabitants of Pla de Nadal and turned into a museum collection that opens now to the public. We can all enjoy the effects that time leave on our culture.

The exhibition can be visited for free, after consultation on availability through the tourist office.TOURIST INFO RIBARROJA DEL TURIA
