Lonja de la Seda (The silk exchange)

This is located in a building that has been declared as part of Humanity's Heritage by Unesco. The textile tradition that converted Valencia into the European centre of the silk trade left a great number of possessions and other items in the city that were used for carrying out the different tasks of silk production. Thus, in the Silk Exchange Museum, one can see all the different types of weaving machines and looms that have been used over the centuries for the elaboration of high quality silk. There is also a full collection of different types of textiles and explanations, in didactic form, of the importance of the cultivation of the mulberry to serve as sustenance for silk worms.
