This place houses a large collection of paintings from the Valencia area, outstanding of which are the works of Juan de Juanes, Jacomart and altar-pieces from XVI century. The majority of visitors to the museum are most interested in seeing the two Goyas, and there are also two works by Yañez de la Almedina. As far as sacred art is concerned, the monumental monstrance, the caskets, the ancient manuscripts, the parchments, the silverware - the Portapaz by Cellini-and works of original sculpture on the Gothic doorway of the Apostles by Alonso Cano are all outstanding. The masterpiece of sacred art, however, is the Holy Grail, which tradition says was used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper ; this is exhibited in a Gothic chapel of the same name.
