Shrine Of The Virgen De La Salud
This is a welcoming religious temple in honour of the Patron Saint of Onil. This is a recently restored chapel, which houses the statue of the patron Saint of Onil, Ntra. Señora, la Virgen de la Salud (Our Lady the Virgin Mary of Health) all year round, with the exception of the Patron Saint Feast Days (from 23rd April to 1st May). This shrine is, without doubt, together with that of Santa Ana, the best loved by the whole town and it is splendidly upkept and preserved. Its adveración was given due to the miracle that occurred when the statue of the Virgin Mary visited the town, in April of 1648, assumed the pain of the townsfolk and left the sick free from the plague. It has beautiful frescoes with the flavour of Levantine art as well as examples of Valencian ceramics. This is a shrine worthy of a visit where one can also enjoy a pleasant stroll through its pretty gardens and surroundings.
