Juan Cantómusic And Dance Conservatory
This building, known as Casa d'Escaló, is of singular art deco style of architecture (modernist style), designed by Vicente Pascual Pastor (1906-1908). To be highlighted on the outside are the rustic ashlars, the foundry latiguillos, the sculpted vegetation, the gate and the laminated iron vantage points, the sinuous balconies and the curvilinear ornamental tops etc. On the inside one can observe wall paintings, woodwork (doors and furnishings), plaster capitals, ceramics and hydraulic paved floorings etc. This is the old palace of the textile industrialist Enrique García Peidro, known by the nickname Escaló, which was restored in the decade of the 1980s to be turned into the Juan Cantó Municipal Music and Dance Conservatory.
