Sitting on the banks of the Cabriel river and the border between Castilla-La Mancha and the Region of Valencia is Villargordo del Cabriel, a municipality characterised by the different civilisations that have lived there throughout its long history. The Iberians, Romans and Arabs occupied the village, leaving behind a unique and permanent mark of their time there.
What to do in Villargordo del Cabriel
Las Hoces del Cabriel is one of the most beautiful natural parks in the area. With over 31,000 hectares of protected space, the plants, wildlife, landscapes and geological characteristics here reflect the socio-economic and cultural value of the land.
As you walk through this stunning inland landscape you will connect with nature and breathe in the beauty, peace and quiet of the wilderness in the Region of Valencia. A number of family-friendly hiking trails will take you on an exploration of Las Hoces and Cuchillos del Cabriel.
During your time at Villargordo del Cabriel, you must also make time to slowly stroll along the village’s historic and cobblestoned streets that will lead to beautiful sites such as the parish church, telegraph tower, plaza de la Fuente and Las Trincheras (the trenches) defence area.
