Ròtova, in the region of La Safor in the province of Valencia, is a perfect spot for lovers of hiking routes and rural and nature tourism. From here you can follow trails and paths through incredible landscapes, which can take you to the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba and traditional riuraus. Discover how time passes peacefully in the town centre on a visit, we tell you what you need to know to make the most of your getaway!

What to see in Ròtova

The history of Ròtova has left traces that you can still visit, such as the ruins of Borró Castle, a Muslim fortress, or the Roman villa of Sort. In the town centre you can find traditional ceramic panels, such as those on the façade of the 18th century parish church, dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and in neoclassical style.

The most striking building is the Palace of the Counts of Ròtova, built in the 17th century, which still preserves architectural details such as the battlements and the spectacular staircase, and which is worth a visit even though it is for private use and the interior cannot be visited. Don't miss the coat of arms of the counts that still adorns it!

A great plan in Ròtova would be to wear comfortable shoes and walk along one of its trails, we especially recommend the short PR-CV 100 route, an easy plan that will take you to the castle and the Blan, Llibrell and Les Galeries ravines, and then on to Penya Roja. You shouldn't miss the fountains either!

The festivities in Ròtova are also a more than attractive attraction to plan a getaway, especially the famous Porrat de Ròtova, in honour of San Macià, which is held on the last weekend of February. This festival includes a good number of plans for all ages and proposals related to the production of raisins.

You can also visit the town's main festivities in September or its Moors and Christians in August, and try its corn cakes on any occasion! Plan a trip to Ròtova and enjoy its attractive landscape and history.
