What to see in Chella

To kick off your tour around Chella, a good idea is to dive down its oldest streets which date back to the original Islamic hamlet. Keep an eye out for La Virgen de Gracia Parish Church, rebuilt in the 18th century after an earthquake that hit the town in 1763. Its distinct blue tiles form part of the urban landscape, along with its church bell.

You are bound to find yourself wandering down picturesque streets admiring the traditional façades that line them. What’s more, Chella is wrapped up in a homely and peaceful atmosphere that infects anyone who visits.

Nearby, you’ll find La Fuente Park and a traditional wash house. This charming spot is great to visit with the kids. You could also check out El Río viewpoint or El Salto viewpoint, from where you’ll get sweeping views of El Salto de Chella and be able to take some breathtaking photos. From the park, you’ll find a path that leads to an incredible waterfall along the river Sellent, surrounded by lush vegetation. If the weather permits, you might even be tempted to take a dip!

Chella is an awesome destination if you’re into hiking, with plenty of inviting water sources along the way such as El Abrullador, which boasts a natural pool and a sandy riverbank to hang out on called Salvaje Beach. Submerge yourself in the clear water or enjoy the recently built picnic area. And make sure you check out Viento Mill in Alto de Esparza while in the area.

A visit to Chella will turn into a trip you’ll never forget. Have you made a note of everything you can see and do in this Valencian oasis?
