Discover the secrets of a charming destination where Art Nouveau architecture punctuates the streets. This is the guide you need for your getaway.

Located in La Ribera Alta in the province of Valencia, Carlet is a destination defined by traditional streets that are a joy to wander around. Start planning a rural and nature tourism getaway and find yourself falling in love with the local scenery.

What to see in Carlet

It’s well worth taking your time to look around Carlet’s Historical and Traditional Centre. The traditional houses rub shoulders with Los Condes de Carlet Tower, 19th-century El Siglo Theatre, the Municipal Market and the House of Culture, whose façade will capture your attention. Another point of interest is Plaza Mayor, which is home to a fountain and has a lovely atmosphere.

Continue your explorations of the centre with a stop off at La Asunción de Nuestra Señora Parish Church. Construction work started on this place of worship in the 18th century and the result is a church that is calling out to be explored. On the streets of Carlet, you will also find a number of traditional, picturesque ceramic panels, mostly religious in nature, that will get you reaching for your camera.

The FGV Train Station, a beautiful Art Nouveau building dating to 1925, is another must-visit in Carlet. Afterwards, we recommend walking to Sant Bernat Màrtir Chapel, a lovely hexagonal-shaped place of worship dating back to the 18th century. The chapel is the trailhead for the Bernardina Route, which will lead you to Alzira through the lovely landscapes of La Ribera Alta.

If you fancy spending some time in the great outdoors, we’d recommend making your way to Els Pinets, a nature area where you can see some old and monumental water tanks set in the midst of nature. Around them are recreational areas that both you and the kids will love. Carlet really does have something for everyone. So what are you waiting for? Come for an explore.
