Camporrobles is the perfect backdrop for a rural and nature tourism getaway. You are going to be blown away by the number of historic remains that you will find here. Ready to start planning your trip?

Located in La Plana de Utiel-Requena in inland province of Valencia, Camporrobles is an excellent destination for lovers of hiking and rural tourism activities. It also has a couple of archaeological and wine tourism surprises up its sleeves. Fancy coming for an explore?

What to do in Camporrobles

In the centre of Camporrobles, we recommend taking a walk through the Paulete district, which is the most historic part of the village and is characterised by its narrow streets. Afterwards, make your way to La Asunción de Nuestra Señora Parish Church, built between the 16th and 17th centuries.

Don’t miss the opportunity to stroll down Avenida de la Purísima, which connects the centre of Camporrobles with the train station, another sight of interest, which has a lovely Templete where concerts are held. The old town hall is another point of interest: an 18th century ancestral home whose façade will get you reaching for your camera. The present-day town hall is housed in an elegant building with a long history behind it. Remember to spend a few minutes looking at the Harinera, the flour factory.

Outside Camporrobles, you simply have to visit 18th century Concejo Well, San Cristóbal Chapel and, of course, El Molón, an archaeological site where interesting historic remains have been found. The surrounding biodiversity has been protected by a Natural Landscape listing. You are going to love the flora micro reserve.

Reaching this area involves quite an excursion in which you can enjoy both the naturescapes and scenery as well as the remains of different civilisations. There is also a picnic area and an observatory from the Spanish Civil War. Make sure you don’t miss the landscape’s Visitor Centre.

There are spectacularly beautiful trails that will lead you to Cerro Cardete, Pozo Pitos, Los Dientes del Quijar, which the Templar Knights used to follow many years ago. And when you’ve finished your walk, don’t forget that Camporrobles is a land of the bobal grape and great wines. Treat yourself to a wine tasting or a visit to a winery and its vines.
