Vlogs

Sitting on the shores of the Mediterranean and in the midst of an alluvial plain, Bellreguard is a municipality that comprises a town that is slightly set back from the coast and a stretch of the beach. Keep reading to discover everything this seaside destination has to offer.

What to see in Bellreguard

The coastline is one of the main draws of Bellreguard. And its fine sand, crystalline waters and family-friendly atmosphere make it easy to see why. The destination will gently coax you into a state of relaxation as you enjoy long days at the beach with your loved ones. Besides lounging on the sand and dipping into the sea, you can also try your hand at some water sports such as windsurfing and flyboarding. The beach even boasts the accolade of the Blue Flag

In the town, traditions are still very much alive. The ball game joc de pilota is still played and pigeon keeping is a popular pastime, with the skills passed down from generation to generation.

As you wander the streets, you will come across historic sites such as San Miguel Arcángel church. Built by the Dukes of Gandia, the church was the first Catholic place of worship in the municipality. It was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and subsequently rebuilt with donations from the parishioners.

Bellreguard’s cuisine will also win your heart. The most traditional local dish is figatell, an aperitivo comprising a mix of liver, fat and spices wrapped up in caul fat and fried. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be pleased to know the town has a long history of desserts such as candied sweet potatoes or pumpkin, rollos de huevo, coca Cristina and corona de Gloria.

Bellreguard is a peaceful destination where you can relax to the sound of the waves lapping the sand and enjoy some incredible cuisine.
