Come and explore a beautiful municipality famed for its apples where you can enjoy lovely landscapes and incredible walks. It’s time to immerse yourself in inland Region of Valencia.

Located in El Rincón de Ademuz in the province of Valencia, Ademuz has a special charm, sitting, as it does, on the slope of a mountain where you can set off on an exploration of its incredible trails. This is a wonderful destination for anyone that enjoys rural and nature tourism. Fancy coming with us to explore its secrets?

What to see in Ademuz

Wandering around the streets of Ademuz is an experience in itself. The stone façades – which you are going to love – spread up the side of the mountain, painting a pretty urban picture. At the highest part of the municipality you’ll find two viewing points, namely Santa Bárbara and El Recuerdo Eterno, which we’d recommend checking out to take some great photos. The ruins of Ademuz Castle are also located in this part of the destination.

A Muslim fortress, Ademuz Castle has a number of walls still standing. Next to it are the ruins of Santa Bárbara Chapel. Though only ruins remain, the climb is more than worth the effort. As you make your way back down towards the centre, you can visit San Pedro y San Pablo Parish Church, which was built between the 16th and 17th centuries.

Sitting on the banks of the River Turia, which flows through the centre of Ademuz, is the rustic and charming La Virgen de la Huerta Church, a truly ancient place of worship that dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries

There’s no lack of things to see around and about Ademuz. A case in point is La Celadilla, an important archaeological site that dates back to the Iberian period. Workshops and other activities are run at the site though you can also visit it by yourself. Alternatively, you can take a stroll amid the Mediterranean vegetation and fantastic trees, making your way to one of Ademuz’ hamlets, namely Mas del Olmo, Sesga and Val de la Sabina.

In Mas del Olmo, make sure you visit the old community bread oven and Santa Bárbara Parish Church. Meanwhile in Sesga you can see the hydraulic heritage sites and in Val de la Sabina you can take a look around San Miguel Arcángel Chapel. Pull on your walking boots and get ready to explore the beautiful natural surrounds of Ademuz, which are populated by century-old trees and traversed by the courses of the River Turia and the River Bohílgues.
