What to do in Rossell

Rossell, which is a destination Committed to Tourist Quality, comprises three separate inhabited centres, namely Rossell, Bel and Les Cases del Riu. In the tiny, charming centre of Bel stands San Jaime Parish Church, a fascinating Romanesque place of worship. While you’re here, you’re going to love wandering among the traditional houses with their stone façades.

In Les Cases del Riu, you can set off in search of old mills and walk across an exciting hanging bridge as well as find old farmhouses, some of which have been carved into the rockface. You’re sure to get some great photographs.

In the centre of Rossell, make sure you visit Los Santos Juanes Parish Church, which has a Baroque façade and is said to have been built in the 18th century. After, take a stroll and see if you can guess where the old Walls of Rossell used to stand and soak up all the tranquillity. The traditional streets are defined by houses and fountains dating back to the early 20th century. If you fancy venturing outside the centre, you could head in the direction of Baix Fountains, which has a recreational area where you can have a picnic.

In terms of hiking, Rossell has plenty of options when it comes to trails. All of them will immerse you in beautiful landscapes teeming with biodiversity and history, such as the Les Bruixes Cave site where prehistoric remains have been found. Buttes, gorges, rivers and farmhouses will accompany you throughout your explorations of Rossell. Come and explore.
