Come and explore a part of the province of Castellón that breathes history. You’re going to love wandering around this small destination held in the embrace of mountains.

Located in Els Ports in the province of Castellón, Forcall is an excellent destination if you’re craving inland scenery with an abundance of nature where you can enjoy walks and explore history-steeped buildings. Come with us to get to know the main sights.

What to see in Forcall

Around Plaza Mayor, you can soak up the great atmosphere and enjoy historical streets that are high on charm. A highlight is Los Miró House-Palace, built in the 16th century, and the Council, which is also known as Les Escaletes House, which dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Likewise, we’d recommend visiting La Asunción de Nuestra Señora Parish Church, whose origins are an early place of worship dating to the 13th century.

The area surrounding Forcall is peppered with small chapels that are well worth poking your head into, namely La Consolación, La Consolacioneta, San José and San Joaquín de la Almenadella, which is about a two hour walk away. Why don’t you visit them all on foot or by bike?

Forcall is surrounded by four buttes, making the landscape a dream for lovers of walking. No matter your experience, there are plenty of trails available, catering to different levels of difficulty. To pick out one, we’d like to recommend the PR 322, which will lead you to Mola de la Vila. Alternatively, you could walk to Mas del Racó to see the century-old oak tree or to Mola de Roc where there are astonishing archaeological sites.

And then we simply have to mention Forcall’s biggest festival, which has been listed of Cultural Interest. La Santantonada’s traditions have been kept alive over the centuries, mixing community theatre, fireworks, gastronomy, music, dance, games and symbolic figures. The event takes place in January: make sure you don’t miss it.
