What to see in Cirat
The streets of the oldest part of Cirat preserve traces of three different cultures, Arabic, Jewish and Christian, so you'll love walking through them. In the very centre you will find the Torre del Palacio de los Condes de Cirat, and, nearby, the tourist office and part of the Palace of the Counts of Cirat, which still presides over this beautiful town.
If you wear comfortable shoes, you will discover many fountains and even bathing areas in the surroundings of Cirat, so your walks will always be synonymous with freshness. We especially recommend the route that will take you to see the Salto de la Novia, a spectacular waterfall surrounded by incredible vegetation.
A little further you should definitely visit the Moorish castle, of which the remains of a tower and several sections of the wall are still preserved, as well as a cistern, and the remains of decorated pottery have even been found! The place where it is located is really beautiful, in the Barranco de las Salinas, on a meander of the river Mijares.
Cirat is also synonymous with gastronomy, and they know how to prepare like no one else thistle and turnip casserole, grilled meats or fried pork preserved in the fantastic oil of this area, a real delight! Their pumpkin pie is sure to become one more delicious souvenir of this unforgettable getaway.
