Castellfort: what to see

Castellfort is a medieval village in whose streets you can see beautiful ceramic panels, the “capelletes”, which represent religious figures, some of them dating from the 18th century! You can also see on an urban route the House of the Marquises of Castellfort with its coat of arms on the door, or the town hall, which is a history-filled building which has been used for different purposes.

Another place in Castellfort where you can take a great photo is its 16th century Brotherhood and its Porches, from the 17th-18th century, and you should not miss its 18th century neo-Renaissance parish church, with an interesting organ and altarpieces.

In Castellfort you can visit interesting museums, such as the Mare de Déu de la Font museum, with the remains of a Roman settlement, or the Horno museum. And a great plan that you can't miss is to explore its landscapes in search of its hermitages, among which the Santuari de la Mare de Déu de la Font stands out, surrounded by an incredible landscape and with an old hostelry in which ancient charcoal frescoes are still preserved.

The natural setting of the Rambla Celumbres is absolutely stunning, a must-see in Castellfort, and along the way we can admire the numerous stone constructions, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO throughout the Mediterranean Arc, as well as numerous medieval and even Bronze Age sites, including the important Turó site, where Neolithic cave art is preserved.

Take note also of the festivals, with its pilgrimages, the patron saint festivals in August and San Antonio in January. Visit Castellfort, you'll be surprised by its many charms!
