• The north of the town centre is characterised by a never-ending sand and gravel beach stretching as far as Vinaròs: perfect for a quiet dip even in mid August. The fishing port juts out from the coast and its breakwater protects the fine sand beach that is so popular in high summer. Moving south lies a series of coves and then another straight shoreline linking up with the beach to the north of Peñíscola. Benicarló also has a diving centre which organises dives in the proximity of the Islas Columbretes and Sierra de Irta.
