Phonecian Site of Vinarratgel

This site initiated the preparatory process of becoming a National Historical –Archaeological Site in 1981, and it is located next to where the Santa Pau road crosses the Millars river; the stratigraphy ranges from a first immigrant settlement from Bajo Aragón in the VII Century B.C. (Iron Age), to a Phoenician colonial period in the VI Century, until the village was liberated in the V Century. The village was abandoned in the I Century, and was occupied by the Arabs owing to its valuable strategic position.
