The Valencian town of L’Alcudia will hold the ninth edition of its Fira Gastronómica from the 8th to the 12th of October.
This contest, organised by the
Associació Fira Gastronòmica de L’Alcúdia and sponsored by various private and public institutions, including the town hall of L’Alcúdia, the Valencian Regional Government and the Regional Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism through
l’Agència Valenciana del Turisme, bring together the biggest representation of Valencian gastronomic products year after year. There are more than one hundred stands at the fair, transforming the town into the capital of good dining for a few days.
Over these few days, exhibitors from Castellón, Valencia and Alicante will demonstrate the gastronomic wealth of Spain, offering visitors various products such as embutidos (sausages), hams, cheeses, oils, fruits, honey, jams, sweets, turrones (a traditional sweet similar to nougat made from honey, egg whites, almonds and hazelnuts), etc. This is all in addition to the products that will be on display by the most important Valencian wine merchants of the three
denominaciones de origen (a prestigious Spanish product classification).
In the marquee installed in the fair enclosure there will be continual sampling led by wine experts and representatives from the wine makers at the fair, free of charge tastings and exhibitions. Various other events will be held in parallel such as the children’s fair and “Ruta del Vermudet” whose itinerary includes visits to bars and restaurants of
l’Alcúdia, which will offer special dishes of the best local specialities, as well as other places of interest.
