The tenth Jazz Festival of l’Alfàs del Pi is held on October 23, 29 and 30 at the Municipal Arts Centre of this town in the province of Alicante.

The festival kicks off on Saturday 23 at 8.30 pm with the performance of Aguardiente Swing, a quartet from Alicante that pays tribute to the jazz of the 30s and 40s, with a repertoire of instrumental themes in Gypsy Jazz style.

On Friday 29 at 8.30 pm, it is Swing 41 Quartet’s turn, which honours Beny Goodman and Charlie Christian. The Argentine influence of two of its members can be felt in their interpretation, and especially the influence of the strong jazz trend that country experienced in the 50s and 60s.

Finally, on Saturday 30 at the same time, the festival draws to a close with the performance of Ester Andujar celebrating Cole Porter, one of the most representative jazz singers of the new generations of artists –who was awarded “Best Voice 2002”-, and who has won public and critical acclaim with her music, becoming one of the voices with more personality on the national jazz scene. Also, the Valencian pianist Ricardo Belda, member of the group Ximo Tebar, will appear as guest artist and who is one of the most versatile sought-after artists to accompany American musicians on their European tours.
