The August Fair gets underway in Xàtiva

From 15 to 20 August, Xátiva, in Valencia, holds one of the oldest fairs in the Region of Valencia, the traditional Fira d´Agost. In addition to selling livestock and local products, the fair runs a full programme of activities: regional folklore, firework displays, "tiro y arrastre" (load-pulling) by animals, bulls and so on. Not forgetting shows and performances, including 'Forever king of Pop',a tribute to Michael Jackson, plus Paloma San Basilio, Loquillo, Leiva, Ariel Rot, Juan Magán and Carlos Jean.

The August Fair gets underway in Xàtiva

In August, Xátiva, in Valencia, holds one of the oldest fairs in the Region of Valencia. This traditional event dates from the 13th century and was a privilege granted by king Jaime I to the town.

In addition to selling livestock and local products, the Fira d'Agost runs a full programme of activities: concerts, theatre shows, sports competitions, regional folklore, firework displays, "tiro y arrastre" (load-pulling) by animals, cows, bulls,
