The Book Fair is one of Valencia's great cultural events. You don't have to wonder what to do in Valencia anymore, it's all ready and waiting for you. Take yourself down to the Jardines de Viveros park and enjoy taking part in lots of activities for all ages, ranging from presentations, theatre, storytelling, readings and much more besides.

The Book Fair starts on 25 April and runs until 5 May. During this week, the Jardines de Viveros park will be hosting the city's book shops, all offering a series of special offers and promotions.

And if you come to Valencia, there are plenty of other things you can do as well:

  • Oktoberfest Valencian 2013. The traditional German beer festival will be taking over Valencia's bullring and running until 5 May. Oktoberfest features live music from a band who have come all the way from Munich, in Germany, especially for the event; they'll be playing polkas and traditional Bavarian tunes at lunchtime and dinnertime in the main marquee. Also planned are themed parties, such as frankfurter sausage day, the Viking Party, an Erasmus Day Special and Master Brewer Day.
  • PHOTON 2013. Enrique Meneses tribute exhibition in the IVAM. The PhotOn Festival photojournalism event pays tribute to Enrique Meneses with an exhibition in the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM). This is the first exhibition of photographs to be held since his death and features 62 shots taken by this "tireless traveller" of the Cuban revolution, when he lived with Fidel Castro in Sierra Maestra, plus US presidents, film legends, artists, writers and historic events immortalised in his "My 60s" series. You've got until 2 July to see it!
  • XIV Festival of Ancient Music This festival is held in a number of venues around the city and is an initiative by the Expositio and Comes cultural associations in partnership with the University of Valencia, IVM, CulturArts, INAEM, the Higher Music Conservatoire in Castellón and San Pio V Museum. Tickets for all MHA concerts are free, on a first-come, first-served basis until the venue is full.

As you can see, spring is an exciting time in the city of Valencia!
