Publishing date 13/04/2015
A wide nautical offer which includes more than 70 exhibitors, more than a hundred boats exhibited in and outside water as well as an attractive leisure program for all ages and dining options are some of the contents available on the third edition of the Valencia Boat Show, held from 16 to 19 April in the Marina Real Juan Carlos I in the city of Valencia.
The Valencia Boat Show is introduced as a business, socio-cultural and sporting event where the actual exhibition activity is enriched with an important playful side conceived with an informative character. Thus, the fair offers an attractive program of free activities aimed at both the amateur and the uninitiated and for all ages: from the fun of radio controlled boats to the excitement of competitive sailing as well as workshops, sea baptisms or exhibits.
All this activities will take place in a privileged environment: the Marina Real Juan Carlos I, a stage that hosted major international sporting events in recent years, with a surface of 6,500 square meters, 250 moorings with unlimited length, underground parking - free during two hours- for 800 vehicles and a wide range of restaurants and bars.
The food does not lose prominence in the Valencia Boat Show. The culinary offer of the Marina will be reinforced during these days with two spacesad hoc:the Feria de la Tapa Marinera and VV Náutiva. Food & Music is a space located on the third floor of the Veles e Vents building dedicated to gastronomy, fashion and music. This is an initiative led by Grupo La Sucursal and the Gourmet Club El Corte Ingles which for a few days turns the terraces of this building into a fashion show and music scene, hosting performances on 17, 18 and 19 of April at noon and musical sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings by Ferni Lume and Juan Whist, respectively. The second gastronomic event is a sea tapas festival, the Feria de la Tapa Marinera, and will be located again outdoors around the fair space.
One of the main features is the variety of activities included in this third edition of the boat show. It ranges from a folding trimaran to large boats, a full program of technical seminars, product demonstrations and presentations, leisure activities and culinary offerings, radio-control and naval model building, cork fishing exhibits with Valencian cart and native fishing art of our Community, among many others.
The Valencia Sailing Federation (FVCV) proposes a comprehensive range of water sports and activities during the Valencia Boat Show, for all ages and free of charge, under the sloganGet in the water with us (Mójate con nosotros). On the first two days of the exhibition, Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April, visits of students between 8 and 14 years old from different Valencian schools are organized. A total of 800 children enjoy and learn water sports such as rowing, sailing, canoeing and paddle surfing.
The FVCV offers workshops for the smallest of the family on sailor knots and aSea Learning Roomon board of the schooner Tirant Primer, a training ship conceived by the Government of the Valencian Region (Generalitat Valenciana) to promote the sport of sailing. These activities may also be enjoyed by the general public during the rest of the exhibition days, free of charge and during the general working hours of the event, scheduled from 11.00 am to 08.00 pm.
Besides, the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Environment, in collaboration with the Oceanographic in the City of Arts and Sciences offers activities related to the conservation of sea animals and organize regular release of turtles recovered by the ARCA del Mar (Area of Conservation and Recovery of Animals from the Sea).
As a new activity for this edition, the lounge hosts a display of aquatic rescue dogs from Newfoundland by the Rescue Group Mare Nostrum on Saturday 17 April at 1.00 am. On the other hand, for the second consecutive year, the Regional Cruise Championship of Valencia will be held during this event, a co-organizer of the competition, on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 from 12 am on.
Most of the companies participating last year bet again for the Valencian event and also many new companies participate in the contest for the first time after the success of the previous editions. Local, national and international companies with significant presence of manufacturers and shipyards are finishing their offers for the nautical meeting and organizing presentations of prototypes and boats, in some cases as a national scoop. The international presence has also been reinforced with companies outside our borders, mainly Italians, who see this Valencian event as a showcase for their brands.
