Percussion, culture and fun in Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto

A percussion sound is born from a repetition of blows with rhythmic patterns. Percussion instruments are the oldest, the ones that first made our ancestors dance. They are deep, primal, and awake our most hidden and wild nature, possess us, lead us to a trance, an overflowing emotion. So you cannot miss Percumón, the first edition of the International Percussion Festival, held on the next 3rd, 4th and 5th of June, in the Valencian towns of Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto.

Fun, learning and cultural exchange will set the pace of a festival full of joys. In addition to the concerts held in the Green Espai, you will have the opportunity to participate in a batucadas[1] contest in the wonderful setting of the Roman Theatre of Sagunto. There will also be a Sambadrome, workshops for children and adults, family meals, world instruments exhibition, conferences, camp site ... endless activities for the whole family.

Sagunto, like the festival, oozes history. The historical and archaeological heritage of this town is full of vestiges of past centuries. Roman Saguntum is highlighted in many historical episodes. Puerto de Sagunto offers buoyant economic development and has one of most appreciated the coasts by tourists and locals with sandy beaches, playgrounds, a quiet ride, sports and environment.

[1]Batucada   - is a substyle of samba and refers to an African-influenced Brazilian percussive style, usually performed by an ensemble, known as a bateria. Batucada is characterized by its repetitive style and fast pace.
