Enjoy Benicàssim with the family!
Publishing date 18/02/2013
Benicàssim’s excellent location and Mediterranean climate, plus its beaches, surrounding countryside and cultural heritage, make it the perfect destination for a day trip with the whole family at any time of year.
Benicàssim has an extensive range of activities and attractions for young children to enjoy all year round. Learning by the seaside, exploring the Desierto de las Palmas Nature Reserve, climbing aboard a miniature train, racing around in a go-kart at the Beni Karts track or enjoying a bicycle ride along safe, child-friendly trails, are just a few of the things on offer in Benicàssim for making your holiday an unforgettable one.
One option we can thoroughly recommend is the "family eco-route", guiding you through Benicàssim's lesser-known spots along a point-to-point route that takes about 2 hours. You can do the route on foot or by bike, and as it runs along the coastline it takes you to places like Torre de San Vicente, the Espigón, El Trenet park and Villa Elisa.
Another way of enjoying Benicàssim with your loved ones is the Vía Verde del Mar, part of the Greenways network of footpaths running along former railway lines. You can do this one either by bicycle or on foot, travelling through cuttings and following the route of the old railway that used to link the towns of Benicàssim and Oropesa de Mar. On your way you can see two of the old watchtowers that stand on our coastline, built at strategic locations as a first line of defence against pirates. The path is 5.8 kilometres (one way) and is suitable for everyone.
Benicàssim is also an ideal destination for families who love being in the mountains. We recommend you visit the Desierto de las Palmas Nature Park and have an enjoyable day hiking along one of the many well-marked, family-friendly footpaths that crisscross the countryside.
Benicàssim offers you a thousand and one outdoor activities!
