From 12 to 21 July come and have fun in Cullera, where you'll enjoy amazing beaches, excellent gastronomy and the town's 2013 Beer Festival. Now in its 17th year, the beer festival is a great chance to try up to 20 different kinds of beer from 9 pm through to one o'clock in the morning.

And if you're keen to see a very different kind of parade, come to Manises in the afternoon on Thursday 18 July and you'll see a unique event that's the only one of its kind in the world. The festival groups (known as clavarios) of the "Santes Escudelleres de Manises" parade around the town on carnival floats handing out hundreds of thousands of locally made ceramic items to everyone who comes out to see them.

Another option we suggest is a visit to see the magical Moors and Christians Festival in Oliva from 12 to 21 July. While the festivities are underway, the town's streets are awash with music and colourful costumes. The most eagerly-awaited day is Friday 19 July, the "day of the Entry of the Christians", followed by the Disembarkation and Entrance of the Moors" on Saturday 20 July, with firework displays and deafening harquebus shots on Mitra Galta beach. On Sunday 21 July, you can watch the exciting re-enactment of the battle in which the Christians retook the Castle from the Moors.
