Calp, a Blue Flag destination
Publishing date 10/06/2013
Dominated by the impressive Rock of Ifach, Calp lies on the shores of the Mediterranean flanked by a landscape of mountains and vineyards. Set in Alicante's Marina Alta region, the town’s Blue Flag beaches have made it a popular sun and sand holiday destination. The surrounding countryside features areas of outstanding natural beauty, such as the famous Rock of Ifach, plus it has an attractive yachting marina, seafront promenade and eleven kilometres of coastline with cliffs, beaches and coves. Not forgetting the local gastronomy, a showcase for Alicante’s extensive culinary repertoire.
The Blue Flag beaches of La Fossa, Cantal Roig and Arenal Bol have excellent water quality and fantastic sand.
But that’s not all, if you come to Calp this weekend you can watch the Kite-Flying Competition, which is being held on Saturday 15 June at Arena-Bol beach to celebrate Global Wind Day.
