Callosa d'en Sarria dresses as Christian and as Moor

The Moors and Christians in Callosa d'en Sarria held since 1860 in honor of its patron saint, the Virgin of Injurias.
With the 'start of dolçaines and tabalets' begins the Moors and Christians Festivity in Callosa d'en Sarria during the second weekend of October. The festival includes some events held in other locations and some other events which can only be seen in this beautiful town in Alicante, such as the Moor Dance Contest and Christian Dance Contest which are held every year in the Plaza del Convent. That's one of the most emotional events and also the most expected one by visitors and locals.
Between the 8th and the 11th of October enjoy a town that knows the sea and mountain, a unique festive experience, with its parades pastoretes, medieval knights and nanos, with its luster metal and old beads, their banners and jewelry. The Moors and Christians Festivity in Callosa d'en Sarria has been held since 1860 in honor of its patron saint: the Virgin of Injuries, and have been declared Festival of National Interest.
Discover a small population that still maintains the authenticity of their traditions. The city retains its old town part of its medieval urban structure, defined by a line of walls. The valuable cultural and archaeological heritage of the town center, joins a spectacular natural setting. Les Fonts de l'Algar is one of the most outstanding natural pools in the Spanish territory. Waterfalls, springs, pristine backwaters, an old dam, a canal and century-old canals still in use.
