Arenal Sound 2013 gets underway

One of the most prominent festivals on the European music scene is due to start this week. Arenal Sound is set to run from 1 to 4 August in Burriana, with this year's outstanding programme featuring a series of great acts, including Steve Aoki, Dorian and Zombie Kids.

Alongside these artists, "sounders" can enjoy performances by Editors, The Kooks, The Drums, The Fratellis, Steve Aoki, The Bloody Beetroots, White Lies, Lori Meyers, Iván Ferreiro, Dorian and Manel plus many others, all packed into the first 4 days of August. The competition-winning bands and DJs have not yet been confirmed, nor have the groups who will be performing in the Red Bull Tour Bus, which this year will be parked on the festival site on 30 and 31 July, as an alternative to the Coca Cola Stage based in the Beach Club.

2013 International Festival of Ancient and Baroque Music

Apart from Arenal Sound, the province of Castellón is hosting another music event, the International Festival of Ancient and Baroque Music in Peñíscola from 2 to 12 August.

The festival stage is the Castle of Pope Luna, where a first-rate programme will be featuring Valencia-based groups Capella de Ministrers, Ministriles de Marsias and La Dispersione. The event also attracts international groups, with performances by British line-up Orlando Consort and well-known duo Dominique Visse and Nicolau de Figueiredo.
