More than 600 community festivals are held in the Region of Valencia throughout the year. They are all fun-loving festive events, made for partying in the streets, and anyone who happens to be visiting is more than welcome to join in. Local festivals are a major tourist and cultural attraction and are based on religious, community and historic themes. Costa Blanca, a land of festivals and tradition

This week we invite you to come and see some of the festivals being held on the Costa Blanca, in towns like Almoradí, Gata and Ondara.

The festival in honour of the "Santicos de la Piedra" (literally, "the little saints of the stone") in Almoradí has always been one of the most important and popular in the area, attracting people from far and wide. We invite you to come and see these traditional festivities for yourself from 26 to 31 July.

And from Almoradí to Gata, where from 26 July to 6 August, you can enjoy a wide-ranging programme of activities featuring early morning fireworks, Batucada drumming groups, a fancy dress ball, bulls and a rock music night. There's something for everyone and to suit all ages in Gata's idyllic setting.

Next Saturday, Ondara will be holding its annual "Santos de la Piedra" festival, with a community paella contest, water party, bulls in the streets, community suppers and open-air music performances. Are you going to miss out?

Come to the Region of Valencia and enjoy its summer festivals packed with colour, performance, spectacle and lots of fun!
