Travel back in time with the Alcoy Modernist Fair

The second edition of the Alcoy Modernist Week will be held from September 17th to 23rd. The programme includes all kinds of activities that will revolve around the figure of the sculptor Lorenzo Ridaura, who accomplished his most prolific professional period in the city. There will be different activities during weekdays: workshops, guided tours of the city, exhibitions and conferences as well as a special program for schoolchildren.

It will be on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September when the moment of maximum splendour will have place with the installation of the Modernist Fair in the Parque de la Glorieta, considered as the first modernist park in Alcoy. On Saturday 22nd, there will be parades, traditional games, and storytelling for children and popular dances. In addition, the shops of the city centre will open to live their own Modernist Open Night.

Sunday will be an unforgettable day. A picnic will be held in the park itself and a concert in the bandstand of the Glorieta with music of the time. Before the closing ceremony, modernist traditions will be recreated and a dramatized visit to the cemetery will have place.

All the inhabitants of Alcoy throw themselves into this celebration. Dress yourself up from the modernist time and visit the most spectacular corners of the city of bridges. Visits to the Industrial Circle and the City Cemetery are essential to be steeped in the modernist ambiance.
