The Tabarca-Ciudad de Alicante trophy, land ho!
Publishing date 7/07/2014
The Tabarca-Ciudad de Alicante trophy, one of the most important dates in the national cruise sailing calendar, will be held between July 10 and 13. A total of 25 vessels will struggle throughout a regatta that will be a memorable experience for participants and amateurs alike.
The capital of the Costa Blanca and the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante (RCRA) are already ready to host a new edition of the Tabarca-Ciudad de Alicante Trophy. This cup, which is held from July 10 to 13 in the waters of Alicante, is one of the most important events in the national cruise sailing calendar. Thanks to the 25 participant teams and assisted by the winds, Alicante will once again offer us a splendid nautical display in its bay.
This year, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Regatta Club, the event has been opened to ORC (Offshore Racing Council) classes. However, this is not the only important aspect, the RCRA will give mooring preferences to those who sign up the earliest, and will offer discounts on mooring spaces during the celebration of the Volvo Ocean Race in October.
This year will mark the 19th anniversary of the first attention signal of Tabarca-Ciudad de Alicante trophy. Nineteen years of top level regattas have made this trophy one of the essential dates of the national cruise calendar. This will undoubtedly be a special edition, as it is held in a year during which the eyes of the whole world are focused on the city, owing to great nautical events such as the exit of the Volvo Ocean Race.
