Teulada-Moraira: tours through a Mediterranean paradise

Publication date: 30/08/2010

Teulada Costa Blanca

Make the most of the last few days of summer and come to Teulada-Moraira, one of the most beautiful spots on the Costa Blanca. Throughout September, various guided tours will be exploring this small town in Alicante, giving you the chance to discover some truly enchanting spots, gorgeous architecture and a coastline that is nothing short of paradise.

Discover the town's connection with its patron saint St Vincent Ferrer on the Ruta Vicentina tour, immerse yourself in local history on the Ruta Teulada histórica tour, and of course, explore the town's beaches and coves with the Ruta Moraira, mar y pesca tour. All three tours are free of charge, with no need to sign up beforehand.

The Ruta Moraira, mar y pesca is organised every Thursday in September at 10 a.m. The itinerary takes you through the central streets of Moraira and around the castle, as well as exploring both the traditions and the art of the Lonja de Pescado, the local fish market.

The Ruta Teulada histórica runs every Friday at 8 p.m. and takes you round the town centre taking in monuments such as the Santa Catalina Mártir Church and the Divina Pastora Hermitage, as well as the l'Almàssera Ecomuseum, a building dedicated to the local culture and traditions of Alicante.

Those of you interested in the Ruta Teulada Vicentina will have to wait until 14th September, when you will be taken on a three-kilometre walk around the various parts of Teulada where the town's patron saint is known to have spent his time.

The tours depart from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento main square in Teulada, except for the Ruta Moraira, mar y pesca, which starts next to the fish market.

Finally, the traditional Fiesta del Moscatell is held on 3rd and 4th September, featuring poetry readings, processions in honour of the grape harvest, wine-making demonstrations, tastings and even a local celebratory dinner. Not to be missed!

Long live Teulada-Moraira!
