Valencia wires into the Campus Party

Valencia wires into the Campus Party

If, over the next few days, you were to take an aerial image of Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences, you would see thousands of little dots. But don’t be mislead, these aren’t pixels; they are Campus Party visitors, the most important online technology, creativity, leisure and culture event in the world. Between 26th July and 1st August, the Region of Valencia will be surfing its way through cyberspace.

Over the course of seven days, around 10,000 participants from all over the planet will be able to share their concerns, experiences and carry out all kinds of activities related with computers, communications and new technologies.

If music festival-goers are characterised by wearing the latest, fashionable trends, Campus Party-goers can show off with the latest technology. Galactic computers, fantasy software and futuristic accessories. Each participant has their own style, their own gear and the same network to play, learn and share on line.

The frantic updating of the digital age connects Campus Party-goers with several content areas. There is life beyond the virtual: workshops, talks, conferences and many other activities besides which span disciplines ranging from digital creativity to robotics, software development, modding and videogames.

A unique space for creativity, where imagination and the capacity to make dreams a reality know no boundaries other than the enthusiasm of the "campuseros” or Campus Party-goers to create and learn.

That is the heart and driving force behind the content of Campus Party, and the quality of this event is endorsed by the prestige of its guest speakers. This edition will feature the participation of none other than Wozniak, co-creator of Apple; Oliverio Toscani, the world’s leading advertising designer; Pedro García Lario, an astrophysicist from the Herschel space observatory and, of course, Alsoy1, a friendly state-of-the-art robot that, as well as talking, listening, reading and having a conversation, can also learn and adapt its personality depending on its own experiences.
