Roman Arch Roman Arch

Flanked by the El Prat de Cabanes and El Desert de les Palmes Natural Parks, we find Cabanes, a municipality in the area of Alto Mijares, home to many treasures including mountain landscapes and a stunningly beautiful stretch of coastline between the El Quartell Vell  and La Torre de la Sal beaches.

Fira de Sant Andreu Cabanes Fira de Sant Andreu

A visit to its monuments has many pleasant surprises in store, including the Roman Arch, around two kilometres from Cabanes, and the Mediaeval fortress that has been baptised Albalat Castle or the Watch Towers, built in the 15th Century to warn and protect citizens against attacks from the Berbers. But the history of Cabanes is also told through its cultural events. For over five hundred years it has celebrated the 'Fira de Sant Andreu', the town's fair, which this year is taking place from 27th to 29th November and will include a Medieval Market and interesting exhibitions.
